COREY DAY

At just 17 years old he can already boast achievements such as scoring Dancehouse's short dance film 'Conrete Sleep', composing for local live performances accompanying artworks, being awarded The 2025 Margaret Schofield Memorial Scholarship for Composition, and being nationally selected for Screenworks’ 2025 Screen Composing Mentorship! Mentored by Brett Aplin.
At a very young age, he gained a love of soundrack music which is what eventually drove him to teach himself music notation software. At 7 years old, Corey started drum/percussion lessons at the Murray Conservatorium (Allowing him to play in mutiple concert bands throughous his life), however his passion for composing later compelled him to focus his lessons on learning DAWs and music theory. This led to him composing and producing music in many different styles and mediums, whether for collaborations with other musicians, assignments, or his own short films.
Continuing on his journey, Corey is super eager to collaborate with filmmakers, game designers and other likeminded creatives in order to take him yet another step closer to achieving his dream...
This genre bending piece is made largely of ghuzeng samples and based on ancient Chinese ghost stories.
Created during year 12 for my music inquiry investigation.
